Dr Jarrod Meerkin, Measure Up
Ph.D, M.Sc (Hons), B.App.Sc, MAAESS

Dr Jarrod is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with a PhD in exercise science.  Postdoctoral work has seen Jarrod specialise in body composition assessment.  His past roles as National Sports Science Coordinator for the Australian Paralympic Committee and senior research fellow at QUT in Brisbane and his past role on the executive of the Australian Association for Exercise and Sports Science is testament to his knowledge and experience.

In addition to his academic and research positions, he has been providing fitness instruction to a wide body of clientele for many years.  This work has seen a number of questions raised about body composition – what is it, what does it mean, how should it be measured and how it influences one’s health.  The desire to provide accurate body composition measurement and information to the community saw the development of BCA. Matt McCutcheon, Elevate Performance Clinic

Matt McCutcheon has grown up playing a diverse range of sports, his background has grown him into an extremely passionate practitioner who has vast knowledge on treating people and athletes from any level or sport. Matt has worked in London alongside some of Europe’s best orthopaedic surgeons and has had contact with several premier league footballers, international cricketers and rugby players.

Matt’s philosophy on health and fitness is lifestyle Balance. Balance between work, fun, exercise, friends and family. “Lots of variety in who you spend time with, the activities you do and the places you do them. The people I know who have mastered this always seem to be energetic, happy and really interesting to talk to because they always have something on the go. I think this attitude keeps the mind and body supple and avoids stress and overload.” What makes Matt an expert is his constant drive to be better and learn. He is currently involved in a masters degree in sports physiotherapy. Matt’s speciality is musculoskeletal problems especially sports injuries. A diverse set of sporting experiences allows him to have a clear idea on what demands are placed upon athletes in specific sports. Experiences whilst traveling abroad have taught Matt excellent interpersonal and communication skills which help him understand client’s injuries in its entirety.

Among Matt’s proudest achievements/career highlights is Working in London with some of Europe’s best orthopaedic surgeons and having contact with several premier league footballers, international cricketers and rugby players.

Susie Burrell
B.Nutr & Diet (Hons), B.Sc (psych) (Hons)

Susie Burrell is one of Australia’s leading dietitians. Susie completed both her dietetics and psychology degrees at Wollongong University. Since graduating, Susie has held the position of specialist Weight Management Dietitian at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

In her private work Susie specialises in fat loss, sports and paediatric nutrition and sees clients each week in her private rooms at The Stadium Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre at the Sydney Football Stadium in Sydney. Susie has a weekly column in The Sunday Telegraph as well as a column in The Daily Telegraph’s Simply Food lift-out. Susie is a sought-after media spokesperson and appears regularly in a number of publications including Good Health & Medicine, Cleo, Cosmopolitan and Dolly. Susie is also a regular guest on Sunrise, The Today Show, Today Tonight and New Idea TV.

In a past life, Susie was a prominent sports dietitian and has consulted to a number of elite sporting teams including the Super 14 winning 2007 South African Blue Bulls, St George Illawarra Dragons and Sydney University Rugby. Susie is currently consulting to the Parramatta Eels.
